Keep&nbsp;reading!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Money talk<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course, the first thing that\u2019s on everyone\u2019s mind is money. Inflation, potential financial crisis, recession \u2013 all that affects your bottom line. What does that mean for product management&nbsp;specifically?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cGiven the current economy, PMs will be expected to do more with a lower budget. Resource prioritization and optimization will be a constant refrain,\u201d \u2013 comments <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/jacques-reulet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jacques Reulet<\/a>, Customer Success Manager at <a href=\"https:\/\/canny.io\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer&nbsp;noopener\">Canny<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With this added pressure, what can you do to stay afloat and&nbsp;thrive?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Due to global inflation, we can expect pricing restructuring for most SaaS companies. The correct pricing is one of the things that can get you ahead of the competition. Make sure to explore your customers&#8217; willingness to pay in even more detail this time. Times are demanding and unpredictable. Data is as crucial as it has ever been. It will remain that way for 2023,&#8221; \u2013 says <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/michal-suski\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Micha\u0142 Suski<\/a>, Co-Founder &amp; Chief Product Officer at <a href=\"https:\/\/surferseo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer&nbsp;noopener\">Surfer<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Similarly, there are predictions \u201cabout finding product growth opportunities on a limited budget. That will be the key. Companies are already cutting their staff and budgets. So only revenue-driven and data-driven products will survive,\u201d \u2013 says <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/liliagorbachik\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lilia Gorbachik<\/a>, Product Manager at<a href=\"https:\/\/www.semrush.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&nbsp;SEMrush<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPMs must become more data-driven as they decide what to work on,\u201d \u2013 Jacques&nbsp;agrees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Skill expansion<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ve talked to <a href=\"https:\/\/canny.io\/blog\/best-product-management-advice-from-over-20-top-product-managers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">many product managers<\/a> about what it really means to be a PM. This discipline isn\u2019t taught in many schools yet. So the definition of this role is vague and ever-changing. Some experts predict that it won\u2019t ever be set in&nbsp;stone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNew product managers will need a diverse set of skills to keep up. PMs will have to be proficient in engineering, design, marketing, operations, and more. This kind of product manager can see the broad picture and comprehend how everything in the business fits together. Since businesses are adopting more fluid methods of operation, this pattern is here to stay,\u201d \u2013 comments Irene Graham, Co-Founder of<a href=\"https:\/\/www.spylix.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&nbsp;Spylix<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cA PM is not a role with fixed skills and responsibilities. On the opposite \u2013 you need to be flexible enough to work across different teams and functions. 2023 will be <strong>the year of diverse and know-it-all PMs<\/strong>. They are knowledgeable everywhere: from marketing to engineering. This shift will be crucial. Flexible and agile PMs will ensure that the product responds to all set criteria, meets the clients&#8217; needs, and is created in a timely and efficient manner,\u201d \u2013 agrees <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/marcin-stoll-50795b13b\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Marcin Stoll<\/a>, Chief Product Officer at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tidio.com\/live-chat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer&nbsp;noopener\">Tidio<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">All the tech<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course, tech advancements will continue leading the way. Product experts are paying particular attention&nbsp;to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Internet of Things&nbsp;(IoT)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Artificial Intelligence&nbsp;(AI)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ecommerce<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Here\u2019s what <a href=\"https:\/\/ddiy.co\/about\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Geoff Cudd<\/a>, Founder of <a href=\"https:\/\/ddiy.co\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Don&#8217;t Do It Yourself<\/a>&nbsp;thinks:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cProduct managers will need to focus on incorporating <strong>IoT<\/strong> and <strong>AI<\/strong> into their products, gather data, and improve the customer experience. Example: AI chatbots for customer&nbsp;support.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAI helps product managers assess the success of their products and improve them,\u201d \u2013 adds Matthew Ramirez, Founder at <a href=\"https:\/\/rephrasely.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer&nbsp;noopener\">Rephrasely<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAI in the design and development process will help to create more user-friendly and innovative products. AI will also help to improve <a href=\"https:\/\/canny.io\/blog\/what-is-product-marketing\/\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"47\">product marketing<\/a> and ensure that customers are satisfied with their purchases. As AI continues to evolve and become more sophisticated, it&#8217;ll become more widespread and ingrained in product management,\u201d \u2013 Matthew&nbsp;continues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOn the ecommerce side, automated driving, drone technology, and virtual reality storefronts will likely continue to emerge,\u201d \u2013 says Geoff&nbsp;Cudd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All this new tech brings some security concerns. So it\u2019ll be vital for product managers to instill trust through clear policies and modern security measures (like&nbsp;encryption).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Tools, tools, tools<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>So much emerging tech means you\u2019ve gotta take advantage of&nbsp;it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe emergence of micro tools, such as Grammarly, shows how important universality and effortless integration are,\u201d \u2013 comments Tom Hamilton-Stubber, Managing Director of <a href=\"http:\/\/tutorcruncher.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TutorCruncher<\/a>.
